Focused on card industry innovation, members of the account team for the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) traveled throughout the month of October for the association’s Regional Events. CMA was responsible for all programming and management of the events including networking events and thought provoking educational sessions.
The EuroForum, held in Munich, Germany focused specifically on Europe’s card industry needs, opportunities and trends while exploring regional strategies and solutions for growing business. Sessions featured topics such as lamination, EMV, coating solutions, card quality management and printing.
CMA listened to member feedback on new technology and created the Technology Summit to help members respond to industry shifts caused by NFC (mobile payments) and EMV (the proliferation of smart card technology). Held in Chicago, Illinois, speakers discussed visioning for the future and how new technology will change the way those in the card industry do business.
At the North American Academy Workshop, also held in Chicago, attendees had the opportunity to discuss the most important challenges and opportunities facing the North American card industry. The event featured presentations on topics such as battery powered cards, security, mobile payments and green practices in the card industry. CMA even added a product showcase where table top exhibitors had 3-5 minutes on stage to inform attendees of their product or service they provide to the card manufacturing industry.
Excellent feedback from attendees and exhibitors was received and the audience even commented they were some of the most educational agendas ever!
